Hey there, I can't really find much on the 2.0 TFSI engines. Are there any good resources online or on here somewhere that documents them? I'm just curious as to why there are 3 different engine; AXX, BPY, BWA, CAWB and how different each of them are. Are the later CAWB models much more reliable than the earlier AXX models? Thanks in advance.

There are often slight differences and improvements between the designations. There are different compression ratios between for example the AXX and BWA engines. Early Mk 5 GTis were AXX then moved onto BWA. I’m sitting in a TT with a BWA engine. One benefit of the later BWA engine is it is much easier to renew the fuel pump cam follower due to the fuel line fixing.
The strongest engines will be BHZ or CDL as found in the S3. The Golf edition 30 or 35 also have S3 strength engines with the K04 turbo but are detuned in comparison.
