255 front 235 rear?

I agree, I have driven both. Couldn’t tell difference between Mag Ride and standard in normal driving but when pushed Mag feels good. As for tyres I bought x2 235 19 P Zero A0 in France last month for £220 . Getting a couple more next week!! ****** Brexit is screwing import costs.

Haha exactly I wanted to say this.. So he has rs3 and he fitted 19s???
Those are for a3 or s3.. Rs3 should take 20" exactly

If you mean by 'He' that indeed Audi fitted 19" then yes they did, at the factory........

Sorry but 20" isn't really something i'm wanting to fit.........it's perfectly fine on 19" wheels.

Because imported products are 25% + more expensive now due to the £ being at a low of 1.11 rather than 1.40 in 2015.....and that's before WTO terms.

They are hardly really expensive in this country.

Instead of moaning about it just suck it up.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I'm sure the few years prior to Brexit, the average FX rate against the euro was 1.20. So not a huge difference. And when Italy goes bump, expect that trend to reverse.

Currently running staggered setup with pirelli’s. Front tires are shot and want to go for a square setup on Michelin ps4s 245/35/19 or 235/35/19.

Stock rims, tires size.
front: 19” 8,5j ET53, tires, 255/30/19
Back: 19” 8j ET49, tires 235/35/19

So i’m asking if I go with the square setup on stock staggered rims, what size recommended and are people going for.

I read somewhere that the Michelins are wider compared to other tire brands.

Many in Australia run 245/35 on The staggered rims, works well. They do run wider, will probably be a tad bigger than your pirelli 255s.

Thanks mate, i’m pretty sure I’ll give the 245’s a go then. Cheers.

I have the standard 235's all round on standard 19" wheels. Can I just fit the wider 255 tyres at the front or will I need different (wider) front wheels too?

You will need 8,5j width wheel to fit a 255 tire. You can find the size of your wheels by looking on the inside spokes. I believe the maximum with on a 8j wheel recommended is 245.

Running 245/35/19 on Staggered wheels down under here, no traction light came up ever since..

I have the stock pirelli staggered setup on mine, presume it aides the negation of understeer

Front 255 30 R19 R02 spec
Rear 235 35 R19 R02 spec

What is everyone's thoughts on getting 255 front and back? Apologies, could be a pretty basic question... Looking at getting the ol Pilot S4's and just through I'd check everyone's thoughts on getting both tires wide. Would be on 19s and 30 profile.. on a stage 2+ tuned 2015 sport back.. cheers everyone!

I'm running 245/35 F1s all round on the staggered alloys, I think it's the closest to the rolling radius of the OE tyres and the extra smidge of sidewall adds a little protection.

Is there any point? How much is fitting? Paid 295 for 2 rears fitted and also got £20 worth of love 2 vouchers.

I was under the impression that rims for 255 were wider, fitting to same size rim as 235 seems odd!! Will probably compromise your Insurance too!!

fitting and balance for 2 is £30 all in so £230. Pre Pandemic I regularly return from France with room in car so easy really and typical save £75 . At an exchange rate of €1.40 there would be even bigger savings £190 for 2 fitted .

The Euro U.K. £ exchange rate in 2015 was €1.40. Currently €1.10 . It does indeed vary. In 2009 it was 1.16 but generally on the up until Cameroon announced a Referendum under pressure from the hard right. Facts not spin as always.

you mean £250 all in, 220+30, but you have to pick them up in France. Worth it for you if you already regularly going to France. No point for me as crossing and fuel cost would mean it would be a lot more expensive than me driving 8 miles to Protyre to get them fitted for 275

That’s why I used the average rate since the creation of the euro.
Pressure from the hard right for a referendum? Well, turns out he was right to call one, because LEAVE WON!

Mind you i paid £520 at an Audi main stealer for 2 fronts as my car was already in for other work and didnt want to take it to another garage and waste more precious time, so i reluctantly agreed. At the time, there were issues getting the correct spec tyre - Protyre and Kwik couldn't get them. Costco didnt stock Pirelli and National and a couple of other places didnt fill me with confidence when they quoted me for the wrong sized tyres.

Yes, you are correct. Since I changed to 18" wheels (OEMs were 19s) I had to purchase new aftermarket wheels. For the front I got 8.5 inch wheels (for the 255 tyres) and 8 inch wheels for the rear (for the 235 tyres).

Leave cheated says High court judge. Fact. It also seems like we’re not properly leaving now anyway.

Thanks @steve111b, I generally try to be correct in my analysis!

Hi guys
I want to ask is it ok to run 245 35 19 on front and 235 35 19 on rear ?

255/30/19 vs 235/35/19

I realised after I had no idea that 245 will be higher.. Thought it will be just 10mm wider.. I supposed to get 245 30 19 right ? Becuse I have 235 35 rears
Yeah but you don't use this calculation based on existing ... becuse existing varies.. on a3 you can go from 200 to 255 on front and 200 to 235 on rear..
but since everyone says quattro audi needs all 4 wheels the same why rs3 has 255 front and 235 back? it is still based on a3 chassis all same..

You need to be close to the OEM 255 or 235 specs hence the pictures above to guide you.

Because it is a special 255 that has very similar height to the 235 on the rear.
