S4 Started too shift up too Early in S mode

Anyone else experienced this At 20 Mph The car is In 3 Rd Gear in S mode and I feel it doesn’t hold the gears long enough as it used to do. The car used to Hold the gears much longer ie a week Ago under normal gentle acceleration. Don’t know why it’s started this week.

I have heard that there is an adaptation process that takes place with the zf gearbox and this can be reset.

It looks at throttle position also and learns

Yeah, I’d agree with what the others have said and if you drive slowly in S mode all the time it’ll likely adapt to shift earlier. You could always use manual mode if you’re not liking S mode anymore?

Most likely throttle position.

Mine sometimes does this. In fact I’ve learned how to force it to upshift early intentionally by adjusting the throttle, where I know I’m going to cruise briefly before accelerating again. It’s all down to pressure on the throttle and behaviour over the last few seconds.
