Is replacing the turbo on a 2.0 TDI BKD Quattro an easy job?

Hi,

I've got 160k miles now on my BKD engine and the turbo is starting to sound tired.

Is replacing the turbo on a TDI quattro DIY do able or a real PITA?

I understand that I will need to make space to remove the turbo from the top, rather than drop it down to replace it?

Any help or advise welcome!
