How do you tell if the car is up to temperature without a gauge?

You referring to the s3?

You need to change the driver display to "lap timer" mode or whatever it's called and then can see it digitally.

yes mate, its an S3.

Yup so need to use the lap timer.

With vcds, carista or similar you can code it so it shows up on all driver display screens, you just need to scroll down through the list (mpg, distance time etc..) and it will be there.

Yeah its a bit silly. Much prefer it having done the carista mod so don't have to faff about changing menus.. And if don't care about seeing journey mpg or whatever, then can just be left on permanently.
