Quoted for a sports cat, worth it?

So I'm looking to get a bit of a deeper noise and I was advised a sports cat would be a good start without the growling of a back/center silencer removal.

I was quoted £150 supply and fit for a 200cell sports cat, as as long as my system isn't connected to the manifold.

If anyone recommends any branded ones that would be great!

Would this likely be welded and would this be enough to hear any over run/crackles from a 1.8 dsg in full sport? Thanks

Would make little difference to the sound produced from the exhaust. For £150 the cat is not likely to be very good quality so you are likley to have issues with MOT's in future years.

Nothing beats a 3" diameter decat .

Thanks for replying guys. I don't want anything that will affect MOT so maybe a center silencer delete would be best first? Or a custom cat back?
