S4 gearbox jerkiness, especially when cold

Anyone noticed that the S4 gearbox (true auto, not s-tronic) is jerky until it’s truly warmed up? I’ve only noticed between certain gears - e.g. to 2nd from 3rd is naff, but 4th to 5th is seamless.

Same in my S5. Fairly common I would say as it’s still mechanical (and fluid) parts trying to work at very low temps so a bit inevitable that it jerks to reduce potentially dangerous frictions and heat spots imo. At higher speeds the rpm ranges are closer together so there is less friction and the gear changes appear smoother. Once the car warms up in mine the gearbox loosens

Yaaah I found it yesterday day when I took the delivery. Bit of traffic on the way home and I realised that there was a bit jerk from 1st to 2nd, sometimes 2nd to 3rd.
