Oil use high

My son just bought a 59 plate
A3 1.8 tfsi could any one tell weather this the engin that uses a lot of oil

Same as mine. Mine used 1 litre every 1200 miles. Had it rebuilt by Audi. Now uses a litre every 2000 miles.
There is a huge thread on here for the 2.0T engine which is plagued by a design fault and some 1.8'ts also suffer

I have the 2010 2.0 E888 engine, don't think that is affected, at least I don't have to top it up.
