Hi all,

Read loads of information on this forum about fitting cruise to these cars - actually seems easy and roughly an hour or so to do?

I have got hold of the stalk and the lower plastic but im a little bit iffy about taking this to bits (airbag etc)

Is anyone in the Bristol area willing to pop over and do this for me? willing to pay? if not might ask the local garage

thanks

Ping me a pm & we can discuss it further :)

Just dropped you a PM, thoght i already had

not sure if its because my account is new - you getting PM's from me?

Got your pm mate, I'll reply shortly, in middle of wiring a headlight lol.

are you talking about cruise control? is It really that easy? how much?

You have to be careful tbh as if you bend/break a pin then you're in real trouble, plus it needs coding, so yes the process is straight forward but if you're not that technical then best to have fitted for you.

Pm for a price if of interest :)

Anyone in local are willing to offer a price for this?

Looks like @NHN is too far away to make it viable at the moment

I may have a client in south wales so it maybe more viable, bear with me.

@NHN sent you a few pms with some questions on

but one more here what do you mean " if you bend/break a pin then you're in real trouble" i assumed

from the guide here it was a fairly straight forward process other then 1) airbag and 2) not moving slip ring and 3) fiddly ECU to remove?

Bit far for me (200 miles ish), I fitted my own cruise control and @Cambaines at the weekend. Fairly straight forward and easy to do, give it ago yourself.

I looked into this for my Q5 SE. The key is what else is required. Using my full VIN a local specialist in Poole confirmed the worst. Stalk and cover can be had for under £75. Apart from the coding work there is also the 'control ring' bit that sorts out how the wiring connects to that spinning thing without getting wires crossed. For me that turned a possible £250 into a £550 remap fund basher The remap won.
