Thanks DS, I checked on http://www.willtheyfit.com/ and think they're about 24.5mm wider either side. So an inch each side is a big difference imo. The car isnt lowered, so standard. Not an expert on these but you can use the offset calculators and the difference between the standard 17 inch 7.5J ET56 wheel and an 8J ET50 wheel is that the face of the wheel will be 19mm further out. Which is not a small amount.

A 225 tyre on an 8.5J rim is doable but it will look a little stretched. Is the car lowered or standard ride height ?
I believe so, see pics. Even if they don't rub I'm starting to think they'll stick out too much. Are they really 8.5J? I know that the TTS alloys are identical in looks to the S3 ones but they are 8J instead of 7.5J on the S3. Are they genuine Audi alloys? 225 with 8.5J gives a bit of stretch but they will fit OK and won't rub unless you are lowered.

I thought the TTS alloys that look the same as the standard facelift S3 alloys were 9J?
