As the title..what is the difference? How do you know which one you have? Can a reverse camera be installed on both?

Thanks in advance to anyone

If you have a pretty thick bezel round the centre screen, it will be the low res. Someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to advise about the reversing camera!

The easiest way to tell is from the screen size, the MMI High one goes almost all the way to the edge.

  • x4 silver selection buttons = MMI High / Teckpack
  • x4 black selection buttons = MMI Low / Standard

*as of late 2016 all cars will have the larger screen with the MMI v2 systems (high and low)

From your VCDS videos I can see that you have MMI Standard / Low.

MMI Standard / Low
  • x1 or x2 SD Card Slots
  • With or without AMI Interface
  • With or without DAB
  • Navigation via SD Card
  • Low Def 5" Screen (pre late 2016)
  • Video only via AMI connected device

MMI TeckPack / Hi
  • x2 SD Card Slots
  • With or without SIM Card Slot (audi connect)
  • AMI Interface
  • USB
  • With or without DAB
  • HDD Based Navigation (google maps) with a partition for music and car manual
  • High Def 7" screen
  • Video from AMI or SD Card
  • Can play most popular music formats including FLAC

*Late 2016 systems have the option of Apple CarPlay and the Android Thingy

Cannot think of anything else at the moment.

Yeh I deffo have low, can I install a reverse camera with my unit?

Yup, you can retrofit the low (camera feed only) or the Mid/High (with moving lines).
