Hello,

Im sure its been discussed on the past. My car MY15 its due to the first service following the 1 year/9000 miles rule. In my case its the 1 year rule. The thing is that my car only has covered 3700 miles. I have already arranged for the service to be carried at Audi Crewe 159£.
The car was a demostrator with only 6 months and 200 miles when i purchased back in February. The salesman told me that did not have to be serviced until 2 years. So im wondering if i should skip this oil change and then do a major inspection service when the car will be 2 years.. and then stick to the 1 year intervals service.

The car is main... meaning i dont have any hire contract or pcp..

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

You are doing low mileage, so should be on the fixed interval servicing (ie annual)
Get the service done and ask them to change the service schedule to fixed.
Yes - this has been discussed here many times.

Be thankful you don't have a RS3 as my first oil change cost £330 at 9k miles! Yes I did ring around ;)

Yes - actually, if he's been quoted £159, that is pretty competitive based on feedback on here.

Then... If i do my service now with 3700k on the clock and 1 year old.. next July 2017 Major service £309 and then July 2018 Interim service again 159£...

Thing that gets me a bit confused is that I only have done 3k on my car.. and already will b 1 service.. oil should b still new ?!

Is that correct?

Yes. I think those quotes you have are pretty good actually.
I took the three year service deal for single payment of £399 when I bought the car. But they took that away towards the end of 2014 - it was too good a deal!!

Mine has just flagged up first oil change too. Is there any need to go to Audi for this? My local VW Audi specialist has just quoted me £96 + VAT to do it including pollen filter.

I believe it is important get to Audi as they record digitally the service on My audi so you dont get more the classic stamps as there is not a stamp service book.

After the warranty expires then is up to you to keep taking it to Audi or use the Audi specialist.. but I think atm are quite nice offers for cars after 3 years 299£ where inclues a major and a oil change services .

My price of £159 for oil change first service was quoted at Audi Crewe.. I dont think it is a bad price. Although next year will b £309 for the major service brrr brrr

£159 for the first service/oil change is cheap! You paid at least £30k for the car, so £159 to keep your warranty = a good deal!!!

My reply from a similar thread a while back

A mate of mines lad blew his engine on a VXR Corsa, when they took it in and stripped it out they told him that it wasn't covered as he had missed his first service and the problem was caused due to low oil levels! Think it cost him about £2000 for a reconditioned engine......expensive lesson.

TBH it was more about convenience, as the specialist is easier to get to than Audi. Oh, and Audi still haven't returned my call, so I thought that I would get another quote.

Get your car booked with Audi.. just call around and try find one of those £159 its swansway group who does that offer.

I'm on flexible service schedule, 2years old and 4500 miles it cost £250 at Edinburgh Audi excluding vent filter.

Mmm... You should really have taken it in at 12 months. The car is obviously set to the wrong schedule.

Well I've just had Bristol Audi on the phone and they want £230. He told me that the oil is £95 and the rest labour. Robbing b@stards.

Actually that's pretty much in line with what others have said previously.
Many have supplied their own oil to save money.

My first service is due now, I phoned my local A for Audi garage and got a price for £90+vat for oil and filter change.
Also he said they have all the necessary equipment to log the service on to the Audi online service schedule which means warranty isn't effected.
Phoned my local Audi and they confirmed that the garage is one they would recommend and can do this.

It was just an oil change and inspection. I bought the car late May @ 2 years old, low mileage was a bonus, the car will continue to do around 2-3000 miles per annum. I will keep on top of maintenance myself.

Just to be clear. I have oil service showing as needed and have booked a manufacturer interim service at Cheshire Oaks for £159.00
Am I right in assuming thats inclusive of oil etc?

I'm new to Audi SRT, I think your quote will include oil. As my car is on the flexible service the oil is long life hence it is more expensive as I understand.

You will get more advice on the forum from more knowledgeable owners as they log in.
