Intermittent wiper problems

Hi all, got a problem with my intermittent wipers, they dont seem to work as they should, when I push the stork up once its got one speed, 12 second delay, just the one speed, its a 2009 tdi with out the rain sensor, the wipers work in all other modes, even when stopping at lights the wipers go into intermittent mode, which is a cool feature, so any ideas, I have done a bit of a search but couldn't find anything of any use as everything was pointing to the rain sensor, which isn't fitted to mine...

Mine has the same problem 2008. Also On auto sometimes it just about to do a wipe then doesn't then does a full wipe really unusual. Had it at my garage still under warranty the say they can't detect a fault. !!

The little button on the stalk slides to give you differt intermittent speeds,

Yeah should have stated that in my post, it doesn't matter what speed you have it on it doesn't adjust, just permanently on 12 second intermittent delay
