Got a decision to make.

head gasket just went on my tqs avant.

should I fix it or get rid.

Cant find a diy for head gasket. does one exist?

Fix it

New Timing belt kit, head gasket and bolts and valve cover and few seals gaskets.

Remove timing belt, remove coolant outlet housing, unbolt turbo at manifold, remove fuel rail etc unbolt inlet manifold, remove coil packs and valve cover, undo head bolts heads off.

doesn't sound that hard. I'll give it a bash. can always break it.

Is it head gasket or has the modene oil cooler failed. Oil cooler is far cheaper and in my experience is a more likely culprit. You might just be lucky and have a cheap repair.
