Yes mate .... Gave my genuine opinion on why I (personally) prefer the RS3 and hope that feedback was appreciated .... well I know it was pal.

The constant need (by some) to play down certain Audi's (over & over again) really gets tiresome.

You asked for some genuine feedback here and that is what I will always give when asked.

Both cars are great ... Best you test drive the TTS and take from there

But RS3 for the win ... You know it makes sense

Agree with earlier post that it is so boring when the same individuals come on and basically make a variation of the same post time after time.
If you actually look back at the posts it is basically the same thing rejigged again and again.
If you don't like S3/RS3 fine we heard you the first time but can you let those of us that do have a conversation that aint turned to crap with your carping.
No way you would get away with it on Cutters etc.
Christ the way these guys talk you would think these things can't go round a corner. Bullshixx!

@45bvtc did a very good comprehensive post (in another thread) as to why the steering on the RS3 was slower, less incisive and is more prone to understeer than a 1960's Lotus Elan, but sadly that post seems to have been deleted.

.

When and where 'pretty girl?' I can't recall deleting it...

I can't find it!

It was a very good post!

Explained very well why your Lotus Elan could turn on a dime, and why it was harder work with the RS3!

With pictures n everything!

Nobody is forcing anybody to read anyone's posts at gunpoint.

If you don't like what anyone is saying, simply gloss over it.

What some people want amounts to censorship - only nice views and opinions allowed to be posted.

That flies against freedom of expression and speech.

Last time I checked, all opinions and views are welcome on this forum - both for and against.

There are people on this forum that value honesty.

Maybe some sensitive souls shouldn't venture on to the Internet. They might get upset at the variance of views and opinions out there

Perhaps we could get this back on topic?

Turned up late to this party and the guys have already sorted you out with plenty of food for thought, but I'll give yer my opinion for what it's worth!!

Taking cost, spec, practicality, what I think you are really looking for in a car and assuming you like the test drive.........TTS

I think the problem is you hijack every thread where guys are talking about their S3s or RS3s with the same criticism about how rubbish they are.
I would be willing to start a just giving page to get you out of your negative equity S3 and into a GolfR if it means you change the record .

Be in intrested to hear your thoughts when you have driven the TTS

Is space a big issue for you? That's the main issue for me with the TTS is that it felt super small inside the cabin and boot space was on the small side too.

And yet you continue to de-rail this thread.

Please fact check your own statements.

I gave a one line view in post #5, directly relevant to the OP.

10 words in one sentence hardly constitutes a "hijack".

Others then proceeded to make a meal of it.
One could say they were deliberately baiting me for a response.

Once again - nobody is forcing anybody at gunpoint to read anyone's posts.

It's a rare occasion, but I agree with you!

Head should say TT-S, but I suspect Jassy's heart will sat RS3

I can't keep up with this friggin forum......................Craig & Jassy are now best mates and Pulp and V8 agree with something I've said for the first time in 10 months!! lol

Sorry Pulp was so busy picking myself up off the floor reading this thread I didn't answer your question!!

Yes, sensible space is still a consideration for me. Got 2 teenagers who still come out with Mum & Dad occasionally, usually when there's a free Nando's and a film on offer so the TTS wouldn't do for me!!

To be honest I prefer the saloon in looks to both the TTS and RS3 (I would like to test drive them both though)

Haha thank you.

The back seats are useless - my friend has just a normal TT and he reckons his 5 year old now struggles to get comfy in the back. Obviously be the same for the TTS.

RS3 does have the benefit of being to load a lot of stuff and adults with comfort. I suspect the exhaust note sounds even better from the back seats too....

Not true, have never driven an Austin Princess.

You do not know what you missed 2200cc in top model FWD great car, nearly as much fun as an MG Montego Turbo!. Us oldies can sure teach you a thing or two about torque steer, drifting and proper driving.. ;-)

@jassyo06 I'm also bit late to this party....so bear with me....I recently came upon these video reviews from what seemed like a "normal bloke" who seems to know what he's talking about:

RS3:
TTS:
S3:
I think you have to test drive the TTS.....

If you can.....wait for this...

http://www.carscoops.com/2016/02/new-audi-rs3-sedan-makes-first-video.html

However, I agree with others here....my money would be on TTS now....then wait to see how the RS3 sedan shapes up....and more than likely I'd be looking to chop the TTS in for the new TTRS as that I think will be the one ring to rule them all....

well that's interesting...did he do another review?....I wish I could formulate an opinion based upon driving the car but until then this is all I have to look at and I would certainly be interested to hear him change his opinion as I am very interested in this car

I'll need to look for it he's known on the other rs3 forum he drove it on a nice day on winter tyres hence his comments not watched it again but sure he said he'd rather have his s3 over the rs3 but has now changed his mind

Like you say the way forward is drive it its all personal preference I drove a golf r manual hailed as the be all and end all. Got given 3/4 tank no time limit and handed it back after 29 mins just wasn't for me at all had a go of a m135i and bought one long term it was too soft for me took rs3 out and loved it so my money is going there.

It's horses for courses Guys ....

I personally think there is a 'risk' that if Jassy got a TTS, the new car shine could wear off very quickly - as it's really just an 'enhanced' version of what he has now in the S3.

I'm pretty sure that, like me, the big draw of the RS3 for jassy is the engine / exhaust ... it gives the car a new level of excitement the TTS just doesn't deliver.

The TTS is about the looks, tech & driving 'finesse' lol as noted. The RS3 is about brutal acceleration, fantastic engine & exhaust note and smiles on your face every time you strike up the engine.

For me the TTS would be enjoyable but the RS3 is on a totally different level of exciting enjoyment .... The TTS is very mute by comparison, or I thought so anyway. The TTRS on the other hand, now that will be something special, but the TT is strictly a 2 seater IMO so the RS3 does score on practicality and that's a factor for me too ... The RS3 like many hot hatches just does everything you want it to no fuss ... Be it the school run, shopping or blasting it in dynamic for fun.

Ultimately it's for jassy to make his own mind up ... the TTS test drive will be interesting to see how he feels after that, one way or the other.

We had a TT for 6 months in 2008 and whilst stylish and enjoyable I don't have great memories. For my 2p the RS3 offers far more in terms of enjoyment and fun .. Unless of course you love TT styling.

Agree with both above. TTS is still an S whilst the RS is a new ballgame.
Bit like a BMW 3.5L Msport(great car) or the M3-just a different market though some would prefer the smoother 3.5L

Biggest concern for me with the RS3.. as with the S3? when does it get a Facial lol
Am a avid fan of the car awesome it is,but realistically l have also got to think of running costs,l do 11k miles/year

Also the deal on the TTS of which my son has yet to get back on, really is the deal breaker... as its February...he's really busy...Dad is last on his list...lol no commission..lol...Saw my First TTS in the metal on the road in red it looked **** hot...
To be...Continued.....lol

Funny you should say that @jassyo06 as I've seen my first mk3 TTS' today

Like you saw a red one, which the wife and I both thought it didn't look anything special
A vegas yellow one which looked stunning
& a sepango TTS convertible in the my local Audi showroom which had the red leather SS seats. Strange combo but each to their own I suppose

All had the standard 19's which really suited the cars IMHO

Still liking the sepango TTS TBH

Looking foreword to your thoughts after your TTS test drive on Friday buddy

PS Good job we are all different or we all be driving the same coloured cars lol

Ditto...was thinking White but not for the avid amateur detailer but Mythos is a possibility...with express red leather...will wait and see mate

If I were getting a TTS the one option I would pick would be manual gearbox ... one of the few remaining high performance Audi's that offers a manual ... that would add to the enjoyment for me.

Colour wise it would be sepang for me on the TTS. I love the 20" rims but agree with Hound they would be ny on impossible to clean !!!

Reactions: PanamaS3, Bristle Hound and Jassyo06
BH the red TTS was doin around 80mph on the other side of a dual carriageway....well it seemed that speed....? as they red guys always say....Red always looks faster lol

TTS for the win!
Drove both on an Audi sport showcase day out on the open road. Drove the TTS first and thought it handled great, looked the business and was proper quick. Loved the seats and the modern interior only slight negative was it had the same engine as my S3.
Went in the RS3 later in the afternoon expecting it to blow the TTS out of the water in performance stakes....it didn't.
Didn't feel much quicker (hardly noticed the difference on the road i was whizzing around) although have to be honest that it sounded great and had mega exhaust crackles and bangs when you dropped it down a gear or two (had me laughing for ages that).

Before that day I really thought I would get the RS3 but the overall package, style and "feel" of the TTS won out in the end.
Might consider a facelift RS3 saloon if that ever happens for my next Audi though

TTS & RS3 are VERY close in terms of performance .... You just hear it in the RS3 lol

Let's be honest, you ain't gonna go wrong with either car

But it's gotta be the RS3 for the win

But mate...I have to say (flame coat on) the TTS is a hairdressers car and you don't sound like a hairdresser, I apologise to those with the TT, but I'm entitled to my opinion and freedom of speech, the last time I checked!

What is actually wrong with your S3? From what I've read it has lots of toys and is the right colour

If you are stating running costs the TTS will be the same as it's the same if not slightly different to the S3??

Keep your car, save up the cost of the deposit and keep adding to it, month by month, then when the RS3 Saloon comes out place an order early, you'll have exactly what you want then, rather thanh settle for a TT, which almost looks the same as the last 2.

Good luck with whatever you decide, but in my opinion, you'll be settling for second best and will regret it soon after the honeymoon period is over.
