I'm booking my S3 (DSG) in for the Cambelt and water pump doing soon.

While they have got half the engine in bits is there any other work I should get done to save money/time etc.

11 plate with 55k full Audi history.

Thank in advance.

Glad I'm in no rush.. Thought this site was going to be decent. Not a patch on R32oc

Yes, just the waterpump and full cambelt kit, I can't think of anything else.

if you dont change the water pump with the cam belt you will have to change the cambelt again if the waterpump goes.

Thank you..

Awesome GTI are charging me £650 for.

Cambelt/water pump
DSG service
Interim service

So I'm going for that.

Might be worth looking at the cam chain and tensioner

Both idler pulleys on belt as well.

Also give members a chance to come on site and read your posts. Some of us are out driving our cars :)

Had our S3 cambelt and waterpump done at an Audi dealer along with some service work.

3 months later the engine warning light came on. Took it back to Audi who diagnosed a camshaft sensor fault. As this is accessible during the above work you might want to give consideration to replacing that as well - although it's probably a bit 'overkill'.

Haha, at this rate we'll be recommending a ****** engine replacement :)

It's a scheduled service, so why freak out over it? :)
