Fuel level problem

Well i ran out of fuel yesterday when my gauge read 1/4 of a tank stripped the fuel pump n float today and manually tested it, when the float is against the stop for empty its reading 1/4 of a tank any advice on the problem and how to rectify it

yip... very common A4 problem. the fuel sender needs replaced.

Deffo the sender? Cuz like i said i took it out the tank n tested it went to empty but the clocks stopped at 1/4

you could try unplugging the sender aswell and see if it drops to empty but my money would be on the sender

Well when i turn the ignition off it drops to empty

Right guys brought a second hand sender from tat yard today and has same problem wont drop past 1/4 of a tank starting to annoy me n vw want £173 for a new oe spec sender

I'm having the same issues too. I had my clocks rewired too, what else can you do

I have no idea mate myn wont go past 1/4 unless engine switched off :/
