New to the forum and hoping to become a active member
I have a 03 1.8t avant (hope I'm in the right place) as pictured below.
When on boost sometimes there is a slight pause or hesitation, I thought this could have been a bit of boost leak because I get quite a whistle/turbo sucking noise when boosting.
I had it serviced by a friend who is a mechanic and he said there is no boost leak that he can find but the oil feed to the turbo feels blocked, and my turbo was glowing red when he got it on the ramp.
He thinks that it's possible that my turbo is starting to seize because it's not getting enough oil to spin properly, so looks like I'm going to have to put some money into it to solve the issue and while I'm at it I might as well gain some more power
So my questions are as follows
I already have a stage 1 Revo map so it's running approx 210 bhp
What turbo do I have? K03? K03s?
I know that if I have a k03 I can put on a k03s no problems but if I have a k03s already can I put on a k04 with little or no modifications?
I have no problem buying bigger injectors, different manifold etc etc after but I need to know what turbo options I have first and then il do everything around the turbo and finish with a custom map
