Okay, a very long story indeed, maybe i'll post it sometime but I'll probably bore or confuse people so might not
Short version: Having the 1.4 COD s line with SE Suspension, I personally am disappointed with the suspension, it doesn't seem anymore comfortable than an S Line I had as a courtesy car, so i won't be listening to reviews so closely anymore - I bet they haven't even drove an s line on SE suspension - they just put two and two together and say it's more comfortable. My opinion, it crashes and bounces around and corners like a pig so I cannot have any fun whatsoever.
Engine is good, impressive performance but I really dislike the 2 cylinder mode, as I wont go into detail because I can already see myself getting a bit of a motor mouth on
Anyway, I'm planning on trading in when the warranty runs out. I can only imagine it's a very complicated engine with many things that can go wrong, and if they do £££££ for a car that I'm not overly impressed with since a bad choice with suspension... also wished I specced B&O and S Tronic but not so gutted about it.
I'm planning on either the 1.8 TFSI S Tronic (i'm sure you can get 2 wheel drive but the configurator won't let me choose) or an S3 S Tronic.
I watched a few reviews tonight of the S3 as this is probably my main choice if I can push a few more grand out. I have a week off work and am finding stuff to do other than detail my car so I watched a particular review that I don't think I should take too seriously, not only that a lot of people were complaining about the reviewer since he was a complete bore and a bit of a downer about the car, he clearly didn't like it and complained about not being able to have 'fun' by skidding the rear end out - it's too planted.... well I'm fine with that, i'd rather not crash a 30k car if I make a mistake, or trash my tyres... You can have fun without skidding around like a yob, i'd much rather have a good planted car that goes like hell.
One thing that got my attention was he complained about the standard sport seats (also the S line seats) which got me wondering. He said they didn't seem to grip you in, and it feels like your falling out. This is a blow to me because I find 700 quid for Super Sport Seats a little over the top considering it's high price already, i'm really pushing into boundaries with money since I don't want finance so i'll be saving for it, but also wanting enough money for the house i'll probably be looking into around that time, so hence why I like the 1.8 (although don't know how much that will be...) - the main reason is you can have White/Black interior at no added cost and my jaw drops when I see it, it looks great personally, the super sport seats are 700 quid more for just black interior like a normal s line, however the seats do look great...
I'm waffling, so basically the question is: Who has the normal sport seats, do you find them not fit for purpose or are they fine? My S line as said before has SE Suspension, so if I go for it in a corner it leans a lot, they seem to grip me fine, but obviously the S3 is a big beast so I'm worrying if they will be something I will then regret.
