Hi guys

I have an S4 b7 cab with no extra function on the DRL switch for coming home lights. I was wondering about doing the same mod that I used on my e46 BMW angel lights which used a wire from the foot well light to carry power to the headlight/sidelight (what ever light you may want) with a diode in there help it all work so that they would fade on when you pressed the unlock from the key fob.

I've bought LED side lights to replace the yellow looking halogens in currently and resistors as per Nicks car Blog

Has anyone tried something like this to make the lights come on when you unlock the car?

Just use the oem switch.

It's about thirty quid and wired up easy

The fogs come on with the tail lights.

I'm sure thats the switch for leveling the headlights. Wouldn't mind this mod myself so any info would be great.

Ah yes you are right, according to the PDF above you just need the DRL switch one which I already have. I just took off the panel under the steering wheel but couldn't see the large plug the guy's talking about.

No there are two types.

The one I've attached which works with halogen headlights and another which controls drl when u have xenon lights.

You need two repair wires one goes to the ccm module and the other to the back of the headlight switch.

Terminal 4 of the ch/lh switch GOES TO the light switch terminal 1 a black and blue cable this in turn goes to the module

Terminal 7 of the ch/lh switch GOES TO pin 24 on the grey 32 pin connector on the module

I then used vcds to tell the module that the light/ rain sensor was installed and then it works, doing this the fogs and tail lights will come on when the button is rotated to the 1 position.

It's meant to be linked into the auto lights feature so the only down side is they fogs will come on day and night, they go off when the drivers door is opened.

Just back to this, I bought 2 repair wires and just now want to confirm what switch (if any I should buy). So I have the DRL only switch currently, I see you can get this one with DRL and timer. Which would be good so I keep the drls.
My comfort module has this model code. 8H0 959 433 M.
