a3 gearbox cable broked

hello
my a3 transmission cable is broken and 2th and 4rd gears not go in.
can it happen because the cable is broken?

If the cable is broken then yes... this is why you cannot get gears... both cables need to be working..

If it's just the plastic end that has broken these come separate to the cables I found this out the hard way
