Droning/Humming noise at 2-3k rpm

Under light acceration, i.e. keeping it at 40mph in 5th. Hard to say where it's coming from. Could it be a wheel bearing?

I'm getting the same thing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Really difficult to pinpoint it... I hear it at higher road speeds too but always when cruising at constant speed... touching the brake pedal stops it for a short time but that could mean a number of things. I am putting it up on the ramp and checking it all over tomorrow/day after. Will know then...

I suspect it's the volume dial on the stereo not turned clockwise far enough...
