Yet again for the third time in 2 months i am having to do the rear wheel bearing:shutup2:

The first one lasted an incredible 10 MILES before failing and now the replacement has just failed again

Checked online foe the right tightness (Hand tight and a quarter of a turn)

Now looking to replace the spindle that it sits on

Question is....

How hard is it to replace the spindle ??

What brand bearings are you using ?? Id personally only ever use SKF or FAG.

As for fitment id say tighten with ratchet so its tight then back it of so it moves freely and no play, hand tight and a quater turn sounds a little risky to me as the bearings may not be loaded correctly.

i nip it up with a ratchet, then use a screwdriver to try to move the thrust washer behind the nut.

If it moves easily, tighten it a bit more (tiny twist on the ratchet)
If it doesnt move, slacken it a smidge.

It should just move with a medium amount of effort, but should feel "tight"
