Hi guys.

Audi a3 tdi 140 bkd 2004 judders on idle. It only does thus when engine is warm and when the clutch is not activated. When cold it idles fine. If I put car in gear at traffic light and put clutch at biting point the judder disappears.

I've looked around and I'm hearing clutch or flywheel or egr clean...not too sure what it is and don't want waste any money on trial and error.

Any ideas?

Could be injector wiring loom, DMF, EGR.
Likely to be DMF if problem disappears once you put your foot on the clutch.

You can always start with EGR clean, then injector loom and finish on the DMF (most expensive).

Link to how to egr clean? Or is there some sort of specialist liquid you can recommend? I've seen this so far...

I get a similar sort of issue on my 2003 2.0TDI. Is yours a constant judder or does it flicker on and off quickly? I've noticed mine does this when warm.

Please let me know if you find the cause then I'll be able to sort mine out :D

It flickers on and off...if I out my foot down on clutch fully it makes no difference. To stop judder I raise clutch till biting point with handbrake on. Seems to do the trick...stay posted!

My 2006 A3 BKD does this, have a search on the forum because it seems this is a very common occurrence and hopefully nothing that really needs fixed, apparently setting your idle to 800ish rpm can sort it out for some. Some people have spent quite a bit of money though without really sorting it

That would be ideal as this sounds a much cheaper option using vcds .. Now to find someone in London who can do it for me lol

Dannykn9 turned my idle down to 800! It cured the problem! :)
