cluster swap

hi all i will explain whats seem to be a problem:

i have 2004 2.0tdi audi a3 and my speedo(actual mph) needle doesnt work

ive used vcds to try all instrumental cluster everything works apart mph needle sits at 0

its siemens vdo.

my question is

can i replace my old with 2nd hand cluster?
can this be from 2009 model(white light up instead of orange one)
can i install diferent make(not siemens)one?

if so how can this be done?
i do have access to a vcds.

Have to be coded mate same as like you Change your key etc

wont work with vag tacho. speak to @udi A3 on the forum he done mine and a few others. highly recommended has all the right tools.

well im based in northern ireland so i would either do it myself or get someone locally to do..

Ouch I see. It's a very complex job and the tools needed are very expensive. Best to see if you can find someone locally. Sorry for not being much help

I think @udi A3 may be able to do the cluster swap via post but you'd have to check with him to be sure.

On a side note a have a TDi white full DIS cluster for sale in the classifieds.

ive got 1 lined up for £40 just if its no good to me (needs rewiring) i wont be buying it then..

if i disable immobiliser could i fit other clocks?
