Hi everyone, hopefully someone can help me here!

Got in the car and the oil sensor warning light came on when i started it. Drove to the supermarket anyway and when i took the key out of the ignition the lights and dash lights stayed on, when i tried to lock the car the alrm started going off, its still going off now outside my house, don't know what to do can't stop the alarm!!

2002 audi s3 bye the way.

Unplug the alarm siren in the back left of the luggage compartment for now as a temporary fix - common problem and there are a few threads dealing with the issue. Mine was playing up months back and I disconnected the siren, haven't bothered re-connecting it since. Can temporarily take out the hazard warning fuse to deal with the hazards flashing to cure it for now. Could be door microswitches, bonnet sensor, boot sensor or internal monitoring setting alarm off. Get it scanned for fault codes.

ill give that a go, by oil sensor warning light i mean the oil can and then the word 'sensor', I'm guessing this just means the sensor needs changing?
cheers

Could be oil pressure sensor I suppose - what colour is the warning light?? Be easy to find out more if you could scan it with VAGCOM or get a mate to. If it is the oil pressure sensor then it's really easy to change. Could it be oil level sender? Could check oil level when car is cool just to make sure there's enough in there (you've probably done that already).

ok so just checked the oil level again and the signs aren't good, there is a build up of white sludge under the oil filler cap and on the end of the dipstick, the headlight warning lights are also coming on now so i don't really understand how this can all be linked??

You need to either take your S3 to a local specialist or get the car scanned and see what codes are coming up. You could have an issue with the wiring in the thermostat thsfs causing your other electrical issues but thats just a guess. You need to really get it looked at.

Ok so the car is goin to get scanned and hopefully sorted, in the meantime can someone please let me know how to disconnect the siren, my neighbours are not happy!

i had the oil sensor light pop up, i put it down to neededing an oil change, were the oil was thin it would roll away from the sensor on long sweeping bends causing the light to come on, done oil and oil filter change and sensor hasnt come on since,

Is it the horns going, if so, take battery terminals off.
The one in boot is pap, surely no one can hear it inside ?
