Hello all, thought I ought to introduce myself before I launch into asking questions.
I have a (new to me) 2005 A3 2.0tdi DSG S-Line (an 8P1 - in fact must be a very very late 8P1 as its an '05). Had it just three weeks now after selling a 2004 Mini Cooper S - sold that as the MPG at 26 was killing me on my 40 mile daily commute. The A3 averages nearer 50!!!
Prior to the A3, had the Mini as mentioned, before that a 2009 E89 BMW Z4 3.0 Twin Turbo(!!) for 18 months, a mk3 MX-5 for about 5 years, and two Eunos Roadsters before that - from 1999 to 2005.
So having sold the Mini I got this Audi, in a private sale from a guy in Derby. Looked at about 10 cars in total, before settling on this. Seemed to be plenty around that were listed as excellent but clearly weren't. Scuffed alloys, mismatched tyres, rust patches(!) and so on. THis was the best I could afford, but sadly has it's own share of issues....(more to come).
Already sorted a few niggles with it from other posts on here - replaced broken front fog light, replaced leaking rear wash/wipe, in the process of fixing seat that doesn't slide when it folds (awaiting parts). THinking it needs alternator pulley replacing as that squeeks and Turbo has overboosted a few times already (!!!!!!) I have had this happen on my o/h's Passat 130PD and fixed that with the Mr Muscle VNT clean.
Anyway, intro over, I have a question...
My car is listed on the V5 as being a 'sport' however, the badges on the rubbing strips of my car and my steering wheel suggest its an S-Line. I have the half leather seats, 18" alloys and stupidly jiggly suspension.
What's the difference between a Sport and an S Line?
If mine is an S-Line should it have an S-Line badge on the grille?
Not v good pic taken this morning in the rain.
Cheers
David
