I’m going to be doing an engine swop on my 01 Avant Quattro soon
The injector pump and cams are noisy .
The doner car has been purchased
An 03 quattro saloon same engine code . Bought running so I had everything I needed ie clocks , Ecu etc
My question is
(1) when doing the swop should I move the Ecu / clocks etc across too ?
I know there will be some coding required but I’m hoping that by moving the engine , clocks and Ecu that I will only need to recode the key ??
Is this the way to go or is it more simplified ?
The Avant has a replacement cluster which I figured out when I disconnected the battery and the default date setting was 03 lol
