for the second time in 16 months I had a coil pack go . For those not familiar with it , it results in engine misfiring and running horribly lumpy , a pull over straightaway job.
I had a 30 sec misfire day before and plugged in OBD and recorded cyl 1 misfire , so expected a coilpack after last years one.
Luckily AA came reasonably quickly and had one in van. Tbh I can replace one myself but wanted them to do a proper scan To check.
It’s a 2010 100k car now , so are these prone to going around this mark ?
AA guy said very common and the fact he had them in van .
Think I’ll keep a spare one in can now!
But my B7 2004 A4 2.0 tfsi Q hasn’t had any coilpack issues and it’s at 97k , and neither did my old A3 at 110k.
Are the coilpacks Not as good as they were ? Or is the b8 TSFI harder on the coilpacks than the previous B7 engine ?
