RS4 ARB is it made of gold jesus?!?! well expensive. what difference does it provide anyway?

It's the rear anti roll bar we're talking about here. Increasing rear roll stiffness reduces understeer. So the car is much sharper and more responsive. The parts cost about £100 or so, and you shouldn't pay more than the same again to get it fitted. Pound for pound, the best mod to be done to any A4 by far.

Found this in an earlier thread.

1 x RS4 Rear Anti-Roll Bar (Part #8E0511409AL)
2 x RS4 Rear ARB Bushings (Part #8E0511327D)
2 x Bushing Brackets (Part #8E0511439)
4 x Bolts for Brackets (Part #N10127707)
2 x Bolts for ARB links (Part #N10528103)
2 x Drop Links (Part #8E0505465AF)

i assume thats all parts needed to fit if i took it to my specialist. stuff audi fitting it then it will cost gold bullion lol.

THanks mate appreciate you finding that

PS - are those bolt numbers audi parts?

You could get the anti roll at links as well, but to be honest you probably don't need them and they're quite pricey compared to the rest of the kit.

The bolt numbers are Audi parts yes :)

I'm doing this soon so let me know if you get a good price for this lot. Stoke_audi have got free shipping on at the moment and normally offer good prices so may be worth a shout?!

Could you get away with just buying the anti roll bar and using your old bits or do you need other parts aswell for it to fit?

Fitting for mine was about an hour and a half's labour. At my local indie, that came to £99.

You will need the other bits too really as the RS4 anti roll bar is thicker than the one you will have so the bushes will be different.

The only costly bit in the kit is the roll bar itself. The rest is pretty cheap to be honest...

My garage would be £75 in labourchrges then in that case. Ill get the parts here and there until they are all collected and then go get it fitted I reckon, in no rush cos want it remapped first

Fitting it all won't take long at all. There's a good 'How to' guide on here somewhere. Parts should roughly be around £120. I've heard only good things about this mod so well worth doing.

RS4 RARB didn't do much for me, already had a decent set of springs and dampers though.

I have the standard S Line springs which are firm already. Would this do much in this case to change it..

This is not about the firmness of the springs generally. It's about increasing rear roll stiffness relative to front roll stiffness. When you do that, in any car, the result will be reduced understeer.

On the subject of S Line springs, they are notoriously firm and jolty on the B7 A4, so much so that a lot of S Line owners on here have replaced them with after-market springs by Eibach or H&R. They give a much smoother and more absorbent ride without losing any of the handling poise. I have an SE and fitted Eibach springs for lowering purposes; got the additional benefit of better handling with no loss of ride comfort.

You'll only really need the ARB and the bushes if your other stuff is in good condition. Does make a remarkable difference in the handling of the car.

I would lower it but i wouldnt know where to start with springs and moreso fitting them.

Couldn't agree more. S-Line springs were changed for H&R on my car and the ride quality was transformed for the better, as well as being lower!

got the parts priced up just now for the full RS4 ARB kit but tere are two sizes of ARB from the 07 RS4. 20mm and 22mm... should i use common sense and go for 20mm as my S Line one is 18mm.... ?

I would just use these part numbers, that will be all you need 😃 Let me know what prices you get.

I seem to recall the 20mm bar is for the S4, and the 22mm is for the RS4. Get the 22mm bar.
