Isn't that the RS1800? RS2000's had the plastic drop nose cone with 4 headlamps. Not massively up on my Mk2's but don't recall them coming without it.

Either way and whatever it is, it's still very cool

Yep! That's definitely the 1800 Mexico. The RS2000 had the snoop droop nose as said & full bumpers back & front, not the quarter bumpers seen in this picture The Mexico also had blistered arches & was the rally car! the 2000 was the road car & had flat arches..

the rs2000 had the droop snoot and 2 litre pinto , the mexico had a flat nose like that picture with a 1600 pinto , and the rs1800 is as rare as hens teeth lol .

Completely forgot about the 1600 & didn't know it powered the Mexico.

You can get flat-front RS2000s without the dropnose cone. Just sayin'. I'd always have a flat-front (and did!).

I was always under the belief there were both options.Hence the pic.The dropnose is also very cool indeed. If im mistaken (which is quite possible as im not of the era these cars were in production) I stand corrected.lol.
Either way, both cars = very cool.

Would love to say, I learned to drive in an RS2000, but it was only a mark 2 1.3L Escort. Always wanted a mint RS2000 though.
