Hello everyone.
My name is Tom.I've been a B7 owner for almost 3 months now after selling my little old pocket rocket A3.
This is going to be kind of build thread.Rather than creating one every time I make some changes I decided to make this one and brag about them mods every now and then.

So after nearly 3 months of B7 ownership I'm still chuffed with my a4 S-Line Quattro .Yet the time to get em first mods already came.

I'd like to do things systematically so first thing to improve in this already solid nice car is the safety and handling.

Stage one

Brakes and suspension:
In my opinion first thing to do when modding the car is to improve its safety, reliability. So the brakes come first.
Originally i was thinking of doing the S4 brake upgrade, but after coming across issues with sourcing and fitting S4 carriers i decided to go for a plan B which also ended up being more wallet friendly. The plan B consists MTEC drilled and grooved discs all around ,Mintex pads,Hel braided hoses and some good brake fluid. This money saving option also allowed me to get some lowering springs at the same time. I went for H&R 45mm all round as I have a quattro and Eibach doesn't do a sportline kit for quattros.
this Way I also wanna say thank You to Damian at DPM for the quick delivery and spot on product ;)

I hope to get them all fitted trough this week/end so an update will be coming soon.for here's som pics.
all the stuff as it came in its beauty notice the curious spectator in the upright corner

Hel Steel braided hoses (with lifetime warranty!) and some well known/recommended motul brake fluid

more pics to come when all fitted and tested.

Hi Tom, what engine you running? Thinking of doing the same with my a4, if you don't mind me asking what it cost you for the brake package? Thanks

I have a 2 litre T FSI (BGB code) engine if that's what you after. All the parts were sourced separately
MTEC discs and the Mintex pad come directly from EMTEC's website for around £120 delivered.
Hel hoses and fluid again directly from Hel which was around £80 quid
and the springs from DPM not sure how much they cost with postage.

Hey here's an update
had the brakes, springs fitted last weekend and now a few days later it seems as they settled nicely down. here's the evidence

still not absolutely happy with it, need to get rid of the visual clearence ,I'll try spacers or larger 19'' wheels later see if it does the job.
the brakes are absolutely ace so far no spongy feel on the pedal, good bite as soon as you step on it. ooh and less brake dust ;)

well worth the money IMO.

next up paint the calipers, oil pick up'' clean up''/service time!

also I'm thinking of wrapping the badges on the rear and side blades
and need to find more time (perhaps a sunny weekend) to remove the bumper and wrap the grille too.
So that's it for now Ladies and Gentlemen you're welcome to share your thoughts and opinions...

its very easy to wrap the grill in place

the wheel caps look good

I guess its time to reveal the latest changes. still haven't sorted the brake calipers or the vinyl wrapping ,but got some other bits done.
Dectane tail lights (as seen on other cars in here), interior and front end lightning upgrade thanks to T8ups excelent stuff.

Looking good tom! The led's from trups are nice. What did the interior LEDs set you back? I've already done the front, thinking of doing the rear aswell but want to adapt the oem lenses to the tail lights you have.

What's next?

if the weather allows I'll try the grille wrapping and also tint the dectane lights to gloss black.then I need to paint them calipers red.
Plenty on the list for the future: cupra splitter ,19'' alloys, remap, rear anti roll bar , fly300 DRLs/front lights black out , RS4 front end + whatever new ideas I'll get from here. it will take a while thou as I'm operating with a really tight budget.

I had one set stolen and that was enough! Only buy cheaper ebay ones now for £15 - £25 for four.

tried that too, the F*****g thieves take those too.
In the end i got so fed up I said to myself never go for genuine audi wheels again as they clearly are a target.

Hi TOM.S

Could you tell me where you got your new grill from please?

Car's looking good!

Stu

From ebay mate, after long months of search finally got one.keep looking for rs4's being breaking and ask the seller for a grille I'm sure you find one eventually.or if you have a thick wallet try tps, or audi germany

Thanks for the reply - I guess I'll keep checking eBay then - don't fancy stumping up the £500+ for one from Germany!!!

Cheers

Gloss black 3M for the grille, for the tail lights - dark smoke head/taillight tinting foil both from ebay mate.

Stage one of modding is almost complete.
RS4 rear arb installed ,new wheels n tyres on,calipers painted, visual package finished once I'll get the rs4 grille and the fly300 kit drl headlights on. I guess I'm done for now. next up first performance mods...

Hi.
It's been a while since updated the thread. not too much has been going on in the last couple of months.
but to keep the thread alive I'll do quick one. before Xmas I ordered a few goodies and they been sitting in a garage till now.
these are part of a pre- map mods.will tackle the APR carbonio kit and a GFB Dv+ valve if it's not going to be too cold tomorrow (yes I know I'm a lazy git, should have done it a long time ago)
20150123_1654321.jpg

Now the DV+ doesn't need any introduction or description i think and as for the carbonio:
just before anyone will start to slay me down. I know there won't be any real performance gains from it, apart from maybe a bit better airflow, but bought it for different reason. That being the nice roary sound when on throttle which you get with the air intake kits + DV+ I'm hoping to have that kind of blow off woosh sound we all love, or at least a more noticeable turbo,dv sound than the current one.

also got the DXD stage 3 clutch kit sitting around ,but keep that for later on, when the actual clutch start slipping and will combine it with FMIC kit I'm yet still to source.
so for now I'll just do these and see how will the car cope with em.
any views, advice comments welcome as usual.

had some time & paint laying around so done the interior trims, ashtrays etc..
Thoughts?

Damn! Your car is looking nicer and nicer per post. Great work.

Yes 100% for the Flat bottom Steering wheel.

As your handy with the paint, you could then colour code it to match the red trim.:D

Good work, Sir!
I'm loving the headlights and especially the dash, just a pity I can't see all of the pics - might be my Chromebook to be fair.

color coding the steering wheel would be too much I think, might as well get one with red/white stitching tho :eyebrows:
