Made up this storage caddy for the spare tire space

Nice idea and looks good. What's it made out of? Did you fabricate it yourself or is the basic shape on net?

Good way to make the space more usable.
Agree, rather have a spare.. check out last weeks BBC Watchdog programme about this issue.

Judging by the picture his car is a sportback which has that kind of trim and all he done is the oval shaped tray which covers the spare. Bet you a fiver the spare is still in there...

it is you can see the dge of it i think good use of unused space but if i had that space id be utilising it for an alloy spare not a space saver

Ur right J_V DUB The space saver spare tire sits under the foam insert. There is about 4" of space above the spare. I also have a large dog so the cross beams provide more support for the cover. I was getting some sagging.
