Hi all,

So we have owned our 2006 A4 cabriolet 1.8t from new, and as it has the later steering wheel, full length grill etc I have presumed it is a B7. However, looking at a few threads on here, along with other web searches it appears that some refer to it as a B6 facelift.
Can anyone shed some light on this and confirm whether this is indeed a revised B7 chassis with the B6 running gear, or just a B6 with updated aesthetics?

Thanks much.

Pic of the front?

A B6 and B7 are the same chassis - just different body.

The b7 is a b6 facelift, the b7 cabriolet was released in 2006, you have the newer steering wheel and grille so identity crisis over it's a b7.

Okay, thanks. So it is a B7 but actually runs on B6 chassis and is different to those cars prduced with 2.0FSI engines?
The reason for trying to ascertain this is due to many car accessory shops not listing B7 1.8t as an option when searching for parts (suspension, SMIC etc) particularly U.S sites where they never seem to have had any B7's with anything other than 2.0 engines.
Am looking to upgrade SMIC but when searching for units keep finding only references to B6.

Just match the part numbers up and you'll be fine.

as above the b7 is a b6 face lifted
but yours is defo a B7
