RNS-E Satnav says DVD unreadable (after 10 minutes use)

Hi, can anyone shed any light on this pls.... Audi RNS-E satnav on an Audi 04 plate (SW 0650, HW H44, Map 8P0919884_AT_EUW)... Driving normally with map displayed no real probs... BUt when i set a destination after about 10 mins the map disappears and it just says "maps is unreadable" or similar on the display... Come back to car later and everything works fine again.

Im based in Leeds if anyone can help and possibly comment on the software/HW/ map I'm using?

Sounds like your laser has gone. We had this exact problem with a customer who wanted us to fix the problem.

Sometimes (not in all cases) a copied disk can cause the laser to work harder and eventually burn out.

How old is the RNSe? Where did it come from? Are you using a legit disk? How hot does the unit feel when the problem occurs?
