Delay in start on my 2.0 tdi sport 140

I have recently purchased a tdi 54 plate when I test drove it it was fine. Since I have had it no problem. Tonight it has started lagging then starting like a slight spluter then starts. Anyone have any ideas what it could be.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you wait for the glow plug light on the dash to go out before your start.

Mine will only start when it's ready. Dip the clutch, turn the key all the way, let go and the ECU will wait for the glow plugs and automatically bring the car to life.

I like that.

get ur battery checked. normally the first point of call with a struggling engine
