Is this A3 model got any known issues?

Hi,

I have an ageing S reg 1.8T 3 door A3, and am looking to get it replaced (budget around £13k)
Would an 08 2.0 TDi S line with 30k on the clock be a viable upgrade?

Any particular issues with that model - or anything else I should be aware of?

With that low mileage the car should be fine plus it will of only just be running out if warranty. A very credible upgrade in my opinion...

Only on the 170bhp on an 08...

Yeah all 170s have them but thought they were fitted on the 140 from july 06 or was it just a option?

We had a 2008 2.0Tdi Quattro 170 S-Line Sportback for 3 years, great car so bought a new BE same spec.

If you can get a Quattro they are superb. Handling and performance is spot on. FWD OK for what it is but not half as enjoyable.

apart from you normal stuff eg engine,clutch,gearbox,turbo from waht ive read,wheel bearings dont seem to last long,rear wipers give up and the older 170s had problems with injectors
