Hi all,

Just purchased a 3 year old A3 Sline 2.0tdi.

Car has driven fine for the first month until today.

Pulled onto the car part at work, no bumps no ditches and what sounds like the back right wheel has started "clanging" if you will. The noise sounds like tin cans clanging but this only occurs when the vehicle is moving.

I havnt had much time to investigate because i needed to get to work but i was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar?

Any help much appreciated!

Sometimes you can get a stone caught between the disc & the back plate, this can cause a noise. Its hard to say without hearing it.

what millage is on the car as rear top mounts can fail as i found out recently when i fitted coilovers

Thank for the replies. Luckily the first reply was correct.

Managed to shove my hand behind whilst mate rolled the car forward and out popped a stone.

Really loud noise for a stone though.

Thanks for the help though. Thank god it was only a stone!

ive had that before it must echo or something throught the metal of the plate and causes a right racket glad its sorted tho fella
