I have just bought a road angel compact with the added laser detector off eBay second hand. Has anyone got one of these or had one and if so what are they like?

there ok for fixed cams

crap for guns and its the cars you need to watchout for

All detectors are crap for mobile speed traps as all they tell you is "you've just been done"
You need a laser jammer for proper protection.

Speed sensing video? Wow very clever.
I think you'll find they use video in conjunction with a laser gun

indeed a laser is used to target and alert them of the speed your travelling the video is only to record the offence and as evidence

ive got a road angel classic and as said good for fixed stuff but pretty usless for laser etc apart from to tell you youve been caught, mine has seperate laser detectors and i stopped fitting that bit in the car

I just bought the Road Angel Vantage - tells me speed limit on any road...i never look at signs so this is key for me...rather than speeding between the cams...
