Hi guys

Car has been hesitant recently, mainly at full throttle, it won't redline and sounds like it's misfiring? Also no boost but dumps in 1st but nowhere near as fast accelerating. 2nd upwards hardly no swoosh from the dv. Feels like no turbo! I have disconnected the maf but it starts then cuts out?

Spec is stage1 map, enclosed filter(simota) and forge dv.

Any help appriciated.

Have not tried vag com, don't have it.

Cheers Paul

you'll need to have it code read to find out whats up. what engine code is it? are the two wires intact to the wastegate soleniod and the 4 wires to boost pressure sensor? if these are open circuit the ecu will default to limp mode.

It's an agu engine. I've checked the cabling and all looks ok, no breaks as far as I can tell, my mate says it could be a faulty coil pack? I've also change plugs to ngk was using bosch supers. But the issue still there!! One thing I did notice is the hose that comes offthe actuator is spongy, which it needed replacing, all the hoses under the manifold have been changed too so It rules them out.

Can u get a copy or vagcom for cheap? I have a tester for vcds?

Mine had a simalar problem a while ago as mentioned get it on vag com you can get it free of ross techs website its called vcds lite its a trial version but you can read codes with it. I unplugged the n75 so that it runs off the wastegate you only get 5psi of boost this way but mine was better unplugged so i got a new n75 and it was back to normal. You could try this as its free.

scan it with VCDS and it should be clearer if it's misfire. Coil packs are common failure item, but be sure to check the spark plugs as well.

yeah I have the light version, just need the lead to the port, plugs are brand new so thats rules out. On the n75 what do I disconnect? The connecter or the hose?

Disconnect the plug then if you have some boost that way then its the n75 thats dead.

But would that cause it not to redline . Only getting 6500rpm?

I have not done it often, just when testing for boost, it feels restrictive and revs don't redline, I'll update tomorrow peeps.... Thanks for info

Right so a mini update, unlock car, unplug wire from n75 and turn car over ...... Nothing, battery almost flat!!!! If not one it's something
Else so charger on now an have to wait, no doubt my alternator has gone. I'll have to dig out my multimeter to test.

Great!

So anyway, tried it and seem to be getting boost but still not revving right, sounds like a mis up top end so Defo need vag com, any one in thesouth east London who wants a plug it in for me?? Lol

If its missing its probably the ignition amp on the airbox. You can try and clean the contacts on it first to see if that works. There about £70 at eurocarparts to replace so id try and clean it first lol.

I found a tear in my tip where the dv goes in. So silicone is on the cards for that but temp fix done for now. Cleaned It with contact cleaner but no avail! Mine is attached to my cable tray as I have no air box but a simota cold air feed filter. I upluged each coil pack at a time and the revs died but with them all on, there is a slight judder on revs. Hmmmm

Am i right in thinking that the cable tray is plastic cos that could be your problem if it is. If you look at the amp there is a metal plate on the back of it and this has to be attatched to a metal surface with thermal paste between them this is how it is on the standard airbox to cool the unit as it gets hot. I think normally with an induction kit others have either made a metal bracket or connected the amp to the suspension turret.

Yes it's plastic but it's been like that for a year now or 4000miles so why start now? Unless it's faulty? I will have to fabricate something and attach it to something metal as you say. Poss bulkhead if it reaches?

Booked it in with local tuning specialist on sat at sanspeed but I have ordered to lead to my diog port so should be able to use vcds lite when I come to see what codes its throwing up. And I think I might just put my airbox back in and get a new filter, just smooth it out.

Hows yours running Bengal??

Its probably dead now so you might be looking at a replacement. I had my clutch done a few weeks ago and on the way home it started running rough i had a look and the idiot had left my amp hanging out of the airbox but mine was ok once put back in. Mines running ok apart from my front brakes binding which slows the car quite a bit and drinks fuel lol.

Lol....well eurocar parts here I come!! Lol with a shopping list! Going to be a long weekend, got some bbs lm reps coming on weds so that should cheer me up!! Lol can you recomen a decent tip? Looking at forge and samco. Also someoff fleebay. Can't wait to get boost back!! It feels likely old 1.poo corsa! Lol

I cant recommend a tip iv still got the original which is ok im sure others will be able to though. Iv thought about new wheels myself but mines got 17" s3 wheels on from when i bought it so im going to keep them. As for your amp id mount your old one properly first just to be sure before you spend money you might not need to you can test the resistance with a multimeter too il try and find you a link.

thanks mate. will have a crack tomorrow, but it sounds like it could be the problem.

i still got the standard sport alloys which look ok with it lowered, i was going to get the s3 wheels but bbs lms look too good!! what you thinking of getting?
