what oil to use in an S3?

hey guys

just tried to do a search, but nothing has come up
just checked the oil level in my S3 and its down to about half, so i want to get it topped up as dont want it to get too low and knacker the engine!!
what are people using in their cars?

i try to avoid my dealer unless its a last resort, rather ask people know what what they are on about rather then reading from a the audi bible

If it's something service related I find they're sometimes useful,but in any case the link I gave you should sort things.

I've just "invested" in some Castrol Edge for mine's upcoming oil service.

If you had rung your dealer you may have found them a shed load cheaper than halfords, halfords want what £15 a litre or did, my local dealer wanted about £9-10 & yes I concur it is SLX also known as Castrol Edge.

ah cool, il swing by the dealer on monday as i drive past it on my way to uni, see what the score is with them

My local dealer now uses Shell Helix long life instead of the Castrol one.
