Help can't select sixth gear

Well my S3 is getting me down now love driving it but one of the windows stopped working last week still need 2 sort that and now I can't select sixth gear. It was fine driving back from ADI on saturday all the way back on the motorway sat at 90mph. stop at a junction after pulling off going up the gears get 2 sixth and it won't go in it like it's not there can anyone help

Hi,

Check the selector cables & the selector mounted on top of the gear box, get someone to change gears whilst looking at them, not catching on anything?

That's a bummer Dan, hope you get it fixed. Post up the solution to the problem when you find it. Is it actually slotting into the 6th gear position but not engaging or is it just not possible to move the gearstick into the correct position for 6th?

You can't put it in 2 sixth at all

The video is pretty useful, that didn't solve it for me so I had to have a new gear box, but these circumstances are completely different fingers crossed for you!

Ok thanks for all the help it's FIXED and it cost nothing it was the a lose nut on the Shifter on top of the gear box.
