Whether there are any gains to be had with an aftermarket intake is very application specific. If the stock intake is restrictive, there can be gains to be had at or near stock. If it'll flow well for a given power level, you probably don't need to change it until then. The stock B7 airbox...

The stock intake is more than enough for the RS4, pretty sure it'll flow just fine for my 4 pot.

Definitely the RS tax in action. I couldn't give up the stereo controls, even for a fancier wheel.

Hi ya, I'd start by making sure the car is boost tight. It'll be easier to diagnose any further faults once you know there's no boost leaks.

Could maybe have been a nasty diesel spill? There's a loose gravely slip road near me and my quattro does something similar when you try and boot it. Flashing ESP light, no power, revs rising very slowly. Takes the car a few seconds to get its **** together even once you're back on good tarmac...

It can be a symptom of a failing master cylinder, might be worth looking into? Especially if the fault was present before all your hard work, and is still present now?

Might also be worth borrowing a pressure bleeder (or finding a garage with one) if you're doing it manually. They can push out airlocks & bubbles you'll struggle to shift pumping the pedal.

When I bought my 2005 A4, 3 of the alloys were so corroded on the inner rim they did exactly the same thing. Took getting the wheels refinished to fix it. The outside of the wheels actually looked okay, but when the guy showed me the inside rims on the ramp, they were an absolute mess.

Brakes don't usually effect your steering or ride quality, perhaps a suspension or tyre issue?

Personally I'd avoid the CVT, they're well known for being trouble.

Went for a drive and the A4 has started surging when cold. Hopefully it's an air leak or something simple. Though being a VAG, it's most likely something eye wateringly expensive with Bosch written on it, that takes 6 hours to change.

Mine did this for a while then stopped, a quiet clonk, clonk, clonk, when you pull up lightly on the brakes. Had it checked and MOT'd and nothing came up.
