    Facelift Brake Clearance, offset, etc…

It looks like being the old fashioned tape measure method, I just wondered if there was some scientific method using the numbers but it’s just giving me a headache haha. I run 19” VW Luganos through the winter months with an offset of 41 so these stick out 8mm more than the Audi wheels but...

    Facelift Brake Clearance, offset, etc…

Any wheel/brake gurus out there that can help me work out what wheel spacers I need? I’ve just ordered some Porsche Macan calipers, I have the 19” Audi 10 Y-Spoke wheels with an ET of 49. I have no idea how to work out what size spacers I need, if any? Does the offset of 49mm mean the wheels...

    Temporary low coolant

Possibly. These are notoriously difficult to bleed properly, try leaving it ticking over with the cap off until it gets up to temp. Top up as you go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fitting side skirt extensions ?

Make sure your trolly jack goes low enough to withdraw it from the car once the skirts are fitted. I once made the schoolboy error of fitting a splitter to an S3 8P using ramps haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fitting side skirt extensions ?

I’ve fitted quite a few Maxton bits to various cars and the proper 3M tape is really good stuff and it certainly makes things easier if you’re fitting skirts on your own, you can ‘lightly’ offer the part up before you give it a good press. Then fit five self tappers with a good, course thread. I...

    Fitting side skirt extensions ?

You’ll be fine with a jack as long as you can fit your drill in. I used self tappers along with genuine 3M tape, I think it was around £12 from Amazon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Facelift 2017 S3 8v - Coolant question

My former 2014 saloon had a thermostat/waterpump at 50,000 and needed another at 70,000. My 2019 sportback is about to reach 60,000 and I’ve no evidence of it having being changed, I imagine it will at some point? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S3 Tyres - 19s - any recommendations?

I got my last pair from a local tyre fitter, I specified ‘AO1’. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S3 Tyres - 19s - any recommendations?

If Audi are fitting them they’ll be ‘AO1’. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S3 Tyres - 19s - any recommendations?

I love the P-Zeros. I hit a pothole, blew the front out and egged the rear. I had to drive around 3/4 of a mile in pitch darkness and the rim completely survived. I do run winters from around November to March though. If you bought the car from an Audi main dealer it shouldn’t have odd tyres...

    Tyres

Re the P-Zeros, I don’t know if it makes any difference but I made sure they were ‘A01’ as fitted by Audi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Tyres

If it’s rim protection you’re after, Pirelli P-Zeros. I hit a pothole back in December, blew out the front and egged the rear. It was pitch black darkness and I had to drive about 3/4 of a mile on a flat front tyre just to be able to see anything, the rim completely survived. I find these great...

    S3 heater woes

It looks a horrible job with the amount of interior trim that has to be removed and as you know, they’re notoriously difficult to bleed properly. Good luck with it mate, let us know if you solve the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    S3 heater woes

Was it a genuine, latest revision heater matrix? I was chatting to a local VW Specialist who mentioned an issue with casting sand. He also said that they change at least one a week and the A3 8V is probably the worst they do. Interestingly they charge £500 for the job with genuine parts where as...
