The new Sportback S-Line I just configured was £30500 and the old Saloon S-Line with same spec was £31820. Looks like the pricing isn’t as bad as one thought.

Options are a fair bit cheaper matrix candles where £895 on the facelift and the panoramic roof was a £100 more as well didnt see an option for a technology package ?
Slim pickings model and engine wise but l am sure that will increase as the year goes on....Full Monty S3 saloon for me again....in either Solar Orange or Porsche Mexico Blue and that'll be ordered early next year.....

Just did a similar check .... and yes pricing seems reasonable ...... The new shape is growing on me ..... but its the S3 I really want to see. I wonder what they will do with the exhausts on that .....? Surely they cant do the "Fake look" on the S3 ?!?!?!!?

But then a fair difference between Saloon and S/B price wasn't there

Looks like half a tank of fuel is back - Edition 1 and Vorsprung have a lot of extras on it with a nice increase though

Standard spec does seem very decent on a SLine and imagine that will only further improve with the S3, although it’s about time we didn’t have to pay extra for Hill Hold Assist, Folding Mirrors and Parking Sensors!

You have to select Sound and Comfort pack to get the front parking sensors along with the awful park assist + some extras - Folding Mirrors as standard - It's about time

Yeah noticed that, annoying they’ve gone down the route of bundling things together as packs, why should you be forced to buy everything in a pack if you only want 1 thing in there :unamused:

Yeah I know - They used to this a few years ago as it was cheaper than buying individually but sometimes you only want 1 or 2 things - I tried park assist as my wife was interested in it and it was awful - Even she agreed and said forget it so just went front and rear sensors - Now you have to have it all the same as Mercedes and our new pool car is a Sear Leon and that's the same

Am i right in thinking there is no Diesel Quattro S-tronic option?

Solar orange is a bold choice (I think it looks great), but do you have the swingers to place an order for it?!

Mexico Blue is certainly very nice to, but think Voodoo is a better shade.

Either way, it's a nice problem to have :icon thumright:

They bundle up for a few reasons, It cuts down the number of production variants making the production planning + supply chain less complex. If I understand WLTP correct, they have to assess the environmental impact of all options on the car, bundling them cuts down on the numbers of variants that have to be measured and finally but most important, it's a fantastic money spinner. You're forced to buy options included in the pack that you wouldn't necessarily choose therefore maxing the Audi profit on a few options rather than 1.

Drivers assist pack in there with traffic jam assist? Couldn't see it unless the pack is called something else than the A4 is. It's a bit mean to have matrix with the A3, yet on the A4 only available if you chose the Vorsprung version...

I thought you said not blue this time round ?
Plus I can see Turbo Blue becoming VERY popular if it is offered on the s line cars as shown on the configurator.

I think they’ve put fake exhausts on the S6 haven’t they? But if memory serves me that’s a diesel? I’d read somewhere (and have no idea if it’s true) that they have to point the exhaust and the resulting particulates down towards the road. If true, that bodes well for the S3 which we know is petrol.

The A6 has fake exhausts as well as many Audi's these days, even the S4 on one side only. Petrol engines also produce particulates if not why would they need a gpf?

I was insinuating it was something about diesel particulates rather than ‘particulates’.

I also said I had no idea if was true, hopefully someone who knows more than either of us will offer views on if it’s true.

I do like blue - what about mica blue that’s very vibrant.
The turbo blue does look good but very similar to what you have now.
How about a Lambo or McLaren orange or green, if you are daring enough ?

Fake exhausts. They stay clean, can be designed to look discreet or obscene, and the real ones underneath pump the fumes down at the road instead of out at pedestrians. Sounds OK really.

£1900 difference between a sportback and saloon.....S3

I did think it was nearer £2k, a fair whack, and even more with your highly optioned and exclusive paint

Looked into Lamborghini paint colours last time mate....problem is a Lamborghini looks amazing in any colour,so hard to judge...l do like Riviera and Nogaro,it all depends on what colours Audi introduce as standard/optional to the A3/S3then I'll go in the opposite direction
Audi do a Orange paint on a Q3 so that rules out Solar as it would be mistaken for that kayalamy Green is a is a option as well lol
