Chrome effect trim

Quick question please on the chrome trims. I guess because they are not proper metal trims you can't polish the spotty look out.
Is it only replace or spray paint??
Or will some tak work!

I didn’t do it but yes the firm that did it said they was a nightmare to do but to re-trim it they are mega money from Audi

Yeah, mask key spray.
Now which paint? I have used plastidip many times and very impressed with it.

You still have to key the panel up with a red or grey scotch brite, then etch it, let that dry give it a quick scotch with a grey pad then clean and paint on top.
 
The trim including the roof rails are alloy so can be polished using something like Brasso

That's what i used on my roof rails and they came up lovely

Oh right I thought they were plastic coated or something similar. So autosol might bling them up a bit?

I've used Autosol on mine BakPak - it does help but they need a fair bit of attention (or mine are just the far-end of the ballache spectrum).
