Next model A3

Thought you were done with Audi? Change your mind? If the next Saloon does look like those images I wouldn’t blame you, it looks great to me.
If it's faster, more powerful yes....if not l will buy a used/secondhand but more powerful car than my S3....

Why do you want more power @jassyo06.......especially as there’s nowhere in the UK to legally go above 70mph!!??

If it ain't more powerful and faster there's no point in getting the new S3....downgrade to be honest.... new touchscreen mmi ain't an attraction for myself so definitely got to be faster
New 135i and that jelly mold shaped AMG 35 just dont cut it for me

I recently watched the Carwow comparison with the new M135i V old M140i.

How on earth that new 1 series got signed off, I don't know? It's such an ugly car. Not that the previous 1 series was any looker either. They must be relying on people buying just for the badge. It makes the A35 AMG look good.

TBH I'm starting to come round top the A35 AMG. I'd take one over the new A45 S.

Be interesting to see the new S3, when that comes out. But if the interior looks and feels as cheap as the photos shown previously, then I think I would buy the A35 over the S3.

There hasn't been any photos of the real interior yet has there? Only assumptions it'll be similar to the Q3 and some heavily disguised ones with plastic covers...

Polar opposites mate..that A class looks out of date and it's only been on the roads a year....the motorways are infested with them fleet sales.....l was up close to a A35 one day..."bright yellow".....so bland in its design...l just had a chuckle to my self....its impossible for Audi not go wrong with new A3 considering the looks of the other German brands

The new 1 series is a terrible looking car, watched the same review and it’s performance has gone backwards.

I really like the A35 inside and out, for quite a while I was refusing to consider another new car but now looking A35’s amongst others.

Wait and see. I'm not liking Audi's design Architecture ATM. Hate the looks of the A1, Q2, & Q3. If the A3 follows the same design, then it'll be a big NO from me. But looking at the spy shots, it does look similar to what the current car looks like. Some could say that looks a bit bland too.

I do think it's wrong though, that you have to tick the Aero pack on the A35 to make it look sporty. Without it, it does look like a TDI model.

Nothing wrong with classic (bland) sporty looks if it looks right. Why everything has to be swoops and square edges these days? No a fan.

I unknowingly parked next to the new Cla 2 days ago...then l had a look at "THAT" dashboard...wtf....I'll say one thing about...it did look better than the hatchback ...but again l just dont like Mercedes design language
I would choose the new 1 series over it any day..just because of its interior which is fitting of a car in this class.

There is also a M performance exterior style kit for the 1 series again too boy racer...the new 2 series looks good as does the new 2 series Grand Coupe....loads of options for buyers in this sector
A hatchback is just common....and l will never buy one again

The new one series resembles the new focus in my eyes, but as both of them are hatchbacks they're off my list for a replacement car. Limited choice of 'interesting' petrol engines as well, only the M135, no 2.0l ones around the 220ps mark...

I do agree with the dashboard. Looks awful. Hate the stuck on IPad look. To be fair, I did have a sit in one, and it does look and feel better in the flesh.

I think the A35 saloon would be the one of interest to me, if I was to go back down the S3 / A35 saloon route.

I'll hold on to see what the new Focus RS is going to be like before taking the plunge on any new car. But saying that, I've got a Q2, and quite like sitting a bit higher up. Wouldn't go down the Q2 or even Q3 (or Q3 RS) route, but may look at a Tiguan. The one I had years ago was a very good car.

Still keeping one eye on Carrera T prices. If they drop to what I feel comfortably paying by next spring, then I'm seriously tempted.

Q3 sportsback is far better looking... a Small Q8 to be honest

Whist I concur that the the next platform A3 based on what we have seen so far looks like it will be visually appealing on the exterior ... mainly as it closely resembles the current car.

But the interior is where the main changes appear to be and I am also of the mindset that what we have seen so far looks fussy, dis-jointed and very un Audi like .. & it could be a deal breaker for me if I don't like the look of it in its final form.

& what the hell is going on making those vents such a feature ?

Got to be honest , I love the current 8V from S-line upwards. It'll be interesting to see the new range in the flesh but if I'm honest once we replace or current A3 it'll be an FL S3 8V.

I'm in no mad rush to do that either. Current 2.0 TDI S-line with remap is putting out around 200bhp and certainly didn't lack performance. Always having people compliment us on the car too which is nice.

I understand manufacturers have to evolve and stay current , blah blah . Yet when you've got a model that just works and ticks the boxes , why need with it .

Can't halt change though.

I currently own an Q3 Sport 2.0 TDI (190 )s-tronic quattro and whilst I can no longer drive it myself my driver (my wife) much prefers it to a previous A3. As a passenger it is a very comfortable car and the seats are much better. I like the touch screen and use it more than my wife for navigation and settings. It's so logical to use, much more so than the MMI on the A3. I certainly do not miss my A3 although I do miss not being able to drive.

There is a premium of around £1200 more to pay for the Q3 sportback, plus they are also, for some strange reason, apparently bringing out a RS version..

Just keeping up the with Jones's mate that's what that's all about....bonkers...l dont see the point in having a SUV full stop....but its in Vogue...to be in one....395 bhp....the next RS3 is reported to have 420 plus bhp to get one over on the jello molded A45s

OK...Audi fire out a 306 bhp S3....
Then a a 340 bhp S3 Performance model was also a option...wonder how many folks would go for the basic engine...???the POWER Gap between the S3 and RS3 has widened..in the last few years,it used to be around 68 bhp now its 90 odd bhp... and going by reports its set to even grow wider....

Touchscreens are brilliant to use if you aint driving....surely you must notice the cost cutting on interior build quality between yer current Q3 and your previous A3,l have watched dozens of car reviews with journalists...."stating adamantly" about cheap feeling looking parts of new Audi car interiors......A1,Q2,Q3,A6

Haha it’s grown on me a lot, some really good deals as well.

Test drove a Mazda mx5 RF, that put a massive smile on my face, Mazda’s monthlies were quite pricey but have since found some good lease deals.

I was adamant I was going 2nd hand route, set a budget of £20k and to be honest that doesn’t get an awful lot so thinking going back down the PCP/lease route. Can’t see the next being an Audi at the moment.

I agree with you about SUVs jassy and I have yet to feel the need to purchase a estate on stilts. However I've also never been interested in an s3 or an rs either...

After voodoo, what would you choose next though ?

I've never understood why they made an RSQ3 when really it has S3 performance. Seems like it should have just been the SQ3
The RS Q3 was very well received by The press for being a great driving car. I'm sure one of the main reasons was that great 5 cylinder engine. I'm sure if they stuck in a four pot turbo, it wouldn't of been the success it was. Just my opinion though!

I have just seen this item in a AutoWeek online magazine:

A3: We'll see the 2020 Audi A3 in Frankfurt; it has been spotted testing in camo all summer long in hatchback and sedan form, with sales scheduled to start early next year. The sportier S3 will follow later in 2020, offering around 300 hp.

I was toying with getting the new A1 and had one for 3 days from the dealership and that actually put me off the interior quite a bit those vents. They just look so dated after having the turbines in the A3. I found them to annoy me more than the scratchy doors and fingerprint magnet screen.
My girlfriend just look inside and said "are you mad, ours looks and feels miles better inside". And in retrospect she is right. Love the exterior though and the A3 will be no exception going the same design route. I like the new sharp edges and spaced out lights etc. but not the vents :)

I know it’s not official yet but does anyone know roughly when the S3 will be released? Looking online there seems to be some conflicting info on when we can see the new A3 on the roads, ranging from end of this year to March next year. I do hope the S3 is not left until late next year, as ideally I’d like one for the summer if I decide to go for it.

I'd be worried what the prices and residuals will be like.

I would be more worried how they are going to ruin it.
Just read an article on the new s6. It’s a 3.0 v6 diesel now with 320 bhp where as the out going model is a 4.0v8 with 450bhp.

People, including those who love their cars, need to be aware of the impact on the environment. 320bhp is more than enough for any on road situation.

I know the prices will be high but I don’t mind paying up as long as it’s not too over the top (near the 50k mark for example). For a day to day car I thinks it’s the best all rounder out there at the minute. Yes you have the likes of the M3 but there prices will be even more ridicules as well as have a higher fuel consumption. Also was tempted by the s4 last year but decided not to go for it in the end.

Well we know we won’t have no more pops and bangs for sure unless the after market comes up with something.

Plus it is more about torque anyway, however I do hate the fact that Audi have put devil's engines in the European 'S' cars, possibly S3 excluded, but allowed the petrol versions of some across the pond...

I’ve heard the S3 is staying TFSI
