All the so called safety experts in Australia, would be having fits at the moment - cars all go off the road once you hit 100km/h and drivers can't possibly cope. As for active sound :
More likely through falling asleep says he who just got fined 175AUD (£100) + 75AUD hire company administration fee + 3 virtual points for doing 68km/hr on a 60km/hr deserted dual carriageway
yes and if you are not falling asleep, driving on all those deserted roads where the speed limits have been dropped, including country roads - 100km/h reduced to 80km/h and so on , you'll spend more time looking at your speedo, than the car in front of you - in certain aspects we are not the the 'lucky country'...
From what I have experienced in Aus (been quite a few times) I cannot believe the rules and regulations they have in place.
Think of the USA but worse, Police trying to fine me for crossing the road in Sydney CBD(when there was no traffic), yellow vested eejits stopping me walking on one side of the Harbour bridge, 'speeding' on a remote dirt track in NSW! I know historically Aussie's aren't necessarily the most trust worthy)) but jeesh......most busy roads in NSW are awful to use as everybody sits within +/- 5kmh for fear of Police.
And yet when it comes to a noisy V8 or motorbike on open pipes off you go no dramas.
Felt great getting back to rural Europe and high speed travel.

I was once a seminar for Public Servants on how the Government Agencies can become smarter by using the IoT and Smart Cities ( yes the irony should already be clear). One of the speakers was from the Department that is responsible for the roads, driver education and regulations . His philosophy was that all speed limits should decreased and his nirvana was to reduce all 50km/h speed limits (which were originally 60 ) to 40 km/h so we could save the pedestrians and cyclists. The issue of people crossing the streets in Sydney CBD was also raised - the solution more cops to book people , not fix the sequencing of the lights so people don't haven't to wait forever to cross the roads - it just proves that neadnerthals still walk the earth

They recently reduced the speed limit on single carriageway main roads to 80km/h, the driving is now worse than ever as some people stick to the speed limit and others just get so frustrated so either tailgate (way worse in France than the UK or pass in ridiculous locations). I regularly speed on the A roads as get concerned about 40t HGVs using my car as a slipstream, officer.......the reduction also has the effect of dumbing down dropping to 70kmh or 50kmh in towns and villages. The amount of money being spent replacing approx 70% of all speed cameras in France must be immense/
With my serious head on I actually think it is getting us all used to automation longer term i.e. there will be a set speed future cars will travel at making anything able to go faster obsolete without being frowned upon or taxed beyond the common (wo)man.
Last time I was over your way had a blat in one of the final HSV GTS-R..........they give you all that power (and omg the noise!) and then lock you up if you dare use it.........or give you double points over a holiday.......barstewards.
