universal fmic

If I was you I would have gone for the slightly larger I/C . 180mm deep instead of 140mm. Thats the size I had on my Passat and it worked well.

2.25" Universal INTERCOOLER COMPLETE KIT BLACK 550x180x65mm | eBay

If you calculate the core size in litres rule of thumb is 3L for every 100bhp. So convert the core dimension to cm = 55 * 14 * 6.5= 5005cc so 5 litres which is good for 5/3 *100 = 167bhp.

The larger intercooler 55 * 18 * 6.5 = 6435cc = 6.44 litres which is good for 6.44 /3 * 100 = 215bhp .

The larger one is only a few pounds more. If they haven't sent it already I would see if you can swap. The smaller one is better than what you have as standard but the slightly larger one is probably optimal.

Cheers ruffrida for those, looks a little daunting.
Have msg the seller but think it mgt b to late.
Whats with the rating of 350bhp capacity?

Is that everything i need to install then in the package.
Im quite diy but u think i cld do it or leave to a garage?

Even thinking send back and get the bigger one,but looks so tight down there

It's on my wish list but won't be gettin done for a long time, surely someone else has done it already!

Don't go by these numbers that they put on intercoolers. You could fit it to a 350bhp engine but it wouldn't do a great job. Thats why it's best to go by the size of the intercooler.

How much of a gain does the intercooler give over stock? Mine comes with an alloy front mounted intercooler as stock and was told it was good for around 250bhp but I've never had anything else to compare.
