Hi All,
So I have had my S5 Sportback for around 2 weeks now. I have noted some niggles down during this time which I would appreciate some input on. (Coming from a BMW 320d, some things I found simple to do on there compared to this car). I have the HDD 3G High Satnav (2011 model)
1 - Speed Warning Limit. So from what I understand the car has 2 speed limit warnings. However the Speed Warning 1 always seems to disappear after a journey. What I am after is a permanent (unless disabled) speed limit at 30/31mph and when im doing say 35 over x seconds, the limit warning should disappear. I've currently set via the MMI, speed warning 2 at 30mph. However this warning doesn't clear at all if Im on the motorway for example, so the speed warning symbol is there forever unless I go back to 30mph!
2 - Bluetooth iphone Import Contacts List. I've not yet found a way to do this, there seems to be an option within the MMI Telephone settings to create contacts - but I dont want to create my 100-odd contacts individually. The actual bluetooth phone call works fine, but what I find i'm having to do is, find the contact on my iphone and then dial.
3 - CD import ripping onto the built in HDD. So I have not yet found a way to do this. I have tried with an original CD that I bought, no luck. The 'audio CD' option is greyed out when I click on the Import tab within the MMI. I've tried with a Mp3 CD too but still no luck! So currently I've just put my songs on a SD card and that works fine (Importing from the SD card works fine, although I Have just left my SD card plugged in 24/7 and play off there). Was so simple on my BMW - Bluetooth contacts import.
4 - SATNAV Postcode Entry - Why can I not enter the full postcode of where I live / anywhere I need to get to! It seems to only accept 5 or 6 digits (the space in the postcode also takes up a digit!!) and then I have to pick the street etc. Worked fine on my BMW.
5 - Video in Motion - so I can play a DVD whilst stationary, but how can i bypass this restriction when driving (for my passengers of course!) I've read about VAGCOM but this Carista app seems alot cheaper. Can it be done on there?
6 - Viewing how many times the car has used Launch Control - one for VAGCOM / Carista I guess?
If you made it this far thanks for reading. A lovely car and fantastic engine, just these niggles I find very annoying!
